Up for sale is a 1991 Dodge Shadow ES with low mileage for a car this age. This used to be a weekend car for me until my wife was no longer able to carpool so I am wanting to sell this so I can purchase a pickup that is more suited to my needs for work. Otherwise I would not want to part with this. Until I started driving it everyday, I was contemplating getting it registered as a classic.

FROM THE WINDOW STICKER:

DODGE SHADOW ES 2-DR CONVERTIBLE
Color: Bright White Clear Coat
Interior: Cloth Low back Buckets with recliners and driver side lumbar support.
Engine 2.5 Liter SOHC EFI
Transmission: 3 Speed Automatic

Front wheel Drive
Electronic Fuel Injection
Position sensitive front suspension
16:1 Power Assist Steering

Fog lamps and aerodynamic Halogen Headlamps
Front side and rear colored acents
15 Inch Cast Aluminum Wheels

Manual Vinyl Convertible Top
Soft Boot Cover
Power windows with fixed vent windows
Center Console with cupholders and storage bins
Luxury Steering Wheel with Air Bag
Analog Gauges with Tachometer
Dual Remote Control Outside Mirrors
Deluxe Intermittent Wipers

Customer preferred options:
Air Conditioning
Tinted Glass
Tilt Steering
Light Package
Dual Note Horn
Speed (cruise)Control
Power Door Locks
Infinity I Sound System
Power 6 Way Driver Seat

The original cost of this car was $16,784.00
It is rated at 23mpg city and 28mpg highway.

THE GOOD:
The top is new and was installed only two years ago and is always booted when put down. The rear window was replaced as well. The top color used to be white, but I got it replaced with a gray top to match the interior.

It is up to date on service. I just changed the oil and the inspection is up to date and is good till March 2011.

I am only the second owner of the car.

It runs great and is comfortable to drive.

Passenger side window motor is new.

Only 45000 miles on it. Might be a little bit more because I drive it everyday still.

Not to mention it is a convertible and fun to drive in nice weather with the top down!

THE BAD:
Driver side window has failed on me despite being fixed in March. It is currently stuck in the down position.

Was backed into in a mall parking lot. The grill and hood are damaged and need to be replaced for the car to look nice cosmetically.

The paint is pealing in a few spots, mostly the hood. This is common for Chrysler vehicles painted white.

Front speakers no longer work

The A.C. Needs to be recharged.

The roof leaks. This is a design flaw with this car. The original owner has told me that it has leaked since 1991 when he bought it.

I hope I have described this accurately enough for you. Please contact me if your interested in taking it for a spin. Please take a look at the photos or come see it for yourself. ohnocomix (at) gmail (dot) com.

Wow it’s been since March when I last updated this blog. Sorry if anyone actually reads this. Now onto why I’m writing.

I think in words.
I had a friend once who told me that he thinks in pictures and images. He is very articulate with how he speaks and I believe he speaks several languages.
I on the other hand think in words. My brain is like a room of voices speaking. I see pictures in my minds eye as well, but not representing any words. Words are just words in my brain. Yet I am an artist. In fact a cartoonist. I tell stories with pictures that I draw from (for the most part) my mind. I make paintings and take photographs. I draw.
When I write my comics, I write them out first in a script format. I think of the words first and don’t really think about the pictures until it’s time to draw. To me it’s all about the words. In fact as I draw I think with words about what I’m drawing.
To draw Billy I think to myself: Nose, Circle circle, eyes, forehead, mouth/smile, hair curl hair curl hair curl, glasses, shirt.
Or if I’m drawing a car, I think about the tires, the hubcaps, the fenders , the turn signal.
When learning about the art of creating art, one is taught to forget what an object is, but to describe it with your medium. Like that’s not a hubcap, but a lighter shade of grey. I could never do that. To me it is always a hubcap. It is impossible for me to think with pictures. For me it’s always about the words.

I think this is one reason why I will only ever know how to speak English fluently. Without the pictures in my minds eye, I can’t find anything else to help translate English to anything else.

Ahoy folks!

I am back to writing my journal again after a hiatus. I hope you enjoyed that little bit on cats that I wrote. It was originally a post on a food friends Facebook page when he asked if his cat was plotting to kill him.

Another reason why I am writing again is because this month I am going to tackle the entire Art of Manliness 30 day challenge. I am already off to a rocky start as I have not done task one or two and as of 20 minutes ago, it is now day three. But I will do them. I want to do all thirty and get that feeling of aconplishment. So I will be posting the results here on the journal.

I don’t know if anyone actually reads this journal, but it gives me a feeling of releasing thoughts from my brain. If anyone of you non existant folks follow me on Twitter then you know what crazy stuff happened since my last entry. In mid December the office I work in had caught on fire and all the employees displaced. The most important people in the company, the folks who brought in the money were rushed off to a underground bunker to keep working. I feel the dust has finally settled and all the workers are split between two temporary office on either side of the river near Valley Forge while the old office is renovated. I still don’t have a computer or phone, but I do have my iBook that I brought from home to get work done on. Work os also picking up; I have been the busiest this week since before the fire.

Well it is past midnight and the cat has got off my lap so I will now go to sleep.

Good night.

Sorry about the lack of journal posts toward the midweek. I would have to say that it was a crazy busy week at work and now we go into one of those lulls where there are no copy jobs in bin.

WEDNESDAY:

Not a very eventful wednesday. Had a rather good Jimmy Johns sandwich to eat. Also I discovered that the Dekalb Street Bridge is now open again in Bridgeport. It helps make commute home go that much quicker.

THURSDAY:

I am now realizing why it is a good idea to do this journal daily. I cant remember what I did on Thursday. I do know that I went to swim class and that the instructor was sick.

FRIDAY:

Whoo Hoo, Friday. I had a good Friday!! Lorin and I went to the Gym and had an awesome workout and then headed out on a date night. Yup, I took the wife on a date! it was fun. We went to CPK and had coctails and pizza. Then we went over to Dave and Busters for some fun games including skeeball. When We got home I saw that my new safety razor had arrived along with a badger hair brush and some shaving soap.

SATURDAY:

I got up early and went to CVS to pick up some aftershave and talc. I then had some breakfast, showered and tried wet shaving with a safety razor for the first time. What an adventure, naturally I cut myself.

Lorin and I went to the Dog show and saw those cute lil’ Duck Tollers! Of course we had to wait though hours of Cocker Spanials just to see them compete. Didn’t get to see John O’Hurley this year.

SUNDAY:

I decided I needed to give myself the USMC fitness test. Oi! I scored a mere 34 on the test. I am not fit enough for the military I guess. My legs are killing me however after the three mile run. And then I went and chopped down Rosemary’s front bushes with a chainsaw.

Day two of wet shaving: Still cut myself, but I got a much smoother shave, I think I am getting the hang of it.

Went to a thrifshop and spent some time with Lorin there and came home to dinner with the Ryan’s. I finished the day with cartooning until midnight.

Well, nothing much eventful happened today. I had a busy day at work and took Lorin to a doctors appointment. Everything checked out honkey dorey with her so we went across the street to eat dinner at the brand new Wegmans and to check out the store. Needless to say, Wegmans is the coolest grocery store I have ever been to. And my sub was fantastic. I hope to get back there someday to try out The Pub. Another difference between Wegmans and other Pennsylvania grocery stores is that it sells beer and wine. Thier selection of beers rivals most beer distributers in the area and you can get a six pack instead of a case.

See ya tommorow.

This is a daily journal, so every day despite how mundane, I will sit down and write about what happened.

The biggest thing would be that I had drawn my first guest comic for another artist. It was fun I must say to draw his characters as I draw my own.

I had to help the technician install a new color machine on five at work to replace a consistently jamming one.

On the way home I went to pick up a jar of pasta sauce at the King of Prussia Genuardi’s. The place was packed and the express lane was closed. All the other shoppers had full carts, I just had one jar. Then I noticed that the service desk was clear. I moved in that direction, but someone beat me there and proceeded to get a money order. There were two people at the service desk, one in an apron trying to figure out how to ring up a money order and another sans apron just standing there. After ten minutes (and now a long line behind me), the girl without the apron rolled her eyes, threw on her apron and asked if I needed help. She checked me out and I was on my merry way past the crowded checkouts.

Well, here it goes, my first journal post on this journal. I would like to tell you about my weekend. I had a particularly fun and disappointing weekend. I was disappointed by the fact that a model I was supposed to photograph this weekend bailed on me for the second time. Not sure if I should schedule a third time with her or not. I also got a pretty nasty migraine on Saturday night.

As for the fun part. I watched some movies on Friday night while slowly sipping some rather tasty Irish Whiskey. The movies were Ghostbusters and M*A*S*H. On Saturday I went out to Phoenixville and started the day by taking pictures of the signaling and switching mechanisms along the railroad there. And then I began to walk. Before I knew it I had walked all the way to the railroad tunnel. The tunnel, Black Rock Tunnel is the oldest of its kind still in use in the US. I took some photos of it which I hope to add to Flickr sometime soon. After all of that I went into town for a late lunch back in town.

I went to the Steel City Coffee House and had a nice tasty Cafe Mocha and a roast beef wrap with pasta salad to eat. After eating I met the owner of Franco’s Italian Restaurant and chatted with him and another gentleman for a bit before searching the town for it’s Barber Shops. I also was sure to check out the brand new Gay Street Bridge and did some streaking light photography all along Bridge Street.

The next day (Sunday) was spent finishing the install of my model railroad signaling system. Also my wife (Lorin) and her mother returned home from DC. They brought Larry’s Cookies. Yum!

So that was my weekend.

Recently I discovered an awesome website called The Art of Manliness. It has a bunch of great articles about things I have great interest in, such as bow ties, fedoras and my recent obsession with wanting to get a straight razor shave from a barber. Well they also have a great series of articles called Thirty days to a better man which I found fascinating. While this series of articles came out months ago, I decided to follow them this month in November. While today is technically day six, I looked ahead to see what was in store for me this weekend. And that was when I saw day eight, start a journal. In that article it suggested using a website to write your journal entries. I had been thinking of starting up a personal blog and a site to collect my random thoughts and hobbies on. I already have an art blog and two webcomics, but I wanted to do something a bit more personal as I consider those to be more professional. So today I join the masses in the world of blogging, except in the spirit of the article I read, I will call it Vinnie’s Journal.
