Description
Every December the town of Phoenixville Pennsylvania holds a festival that celebrates the towns namesake and the towns renaissance. They build a giant wooden bird, then burn it down. Under the fire are clay birds that are pit fired when the bird burns. I spent over ten years photographing the Firebird. Every year the design changes. This is the 2007 Firebird.
