At The Mason Dixon Line
The Appalachian trail crosses the Western Maryland Railway shortly after entering Pennsylvania. Our hike was almost over. It was the third straight day of rain and we were all wet. The previous night was cold with loud owl hooting. But despite our discomfort, it was our last day of hiking and we were having a good time. The woods were beautiful in the mist and fog. Plus there were no more icy creeks to be forded; all the streams ahead of us would be crossed on bridges.
